Central Library

The Central Library moved into its new state-of-the-art building near the Multipurpose Hall in December 2018. With a cool, congenial atmosphere, it houses 66,921 books across 16,200 titles in Engineering, Science, and Technology sections. Subscriptions to leading research journals and local periodicals keep students up to date on current affairs. All technical operations—cataloguing, classification, circulation, accessioning—are automated. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available at opac.quest.edu.pk.

Book-Bank Scheme Section

The Book-Bank holds 9,810 textbooks available to students at 5% of each book’s price. Each student may borrow up to five books for the entire semester at nominal charges.

Students/Circulation Section

Equipped with the latest titles in Engineering and allied sciences, the Circulation Section issues up to five books per student for one-month periods. Enrollment and barcode/QR code ID-cards are managed online via Google Forms, granting access to all library services.

Thesis Section

Over 5,980 theses are available for reference only. Thesis metadata (title, author, subject) is uploaded to OPAC, allowing students to search and locate documents before consulting them in the Reference Section.

Reference Section

The rich Reference Section holds new-arrival copies in air-conditioned halls. Collections include ASTM standards, subject encyclopedias, yearbooks, and dictionaries. An electronic magnetic security system protects the collection.

HEC National Digital Library Program

Through HEC’s National Digital Library, QUEST offers full-text access to over 4,400 research journals across campus. VPN accounts allow remote access for researchers from home.

eBook Repository

The in-network eBook repository hosts 21,600 PDF eBooks spanning all disciplines. Available at http://10.10.170.122:8080.

QR Code Technology

Every reference item and student ID is QR-coded, enabling quick smartphone access to full-text resources via a standard QR-scanner app.

IT Facilities

Printing, scanning, and campus-wide WiFi are available throughout the library, allowing users to connect from any corner of the building.

Events & Workshops

The library hosts regular workshops on OPAC, eBook repository, and HEC digital-library usage. An annual book fair invites leading publishers nationwide. Ongoing acquisitions ensure the latest titles are added through the University Library Committee.
