Directorate of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC)

Since March 2006, the QEC at QUEST Nawabshah has overseen the Self-Assessment process for all academic programs, with particular focus on undergraduate offerings. By gathering student evaluations and related feedback, QEC drives continuous improvement in faculty performance and teaching quality.

Governance & Membership

Under HEC’s Quality Assurance Agency requirements, QEC holds non-voting membership in the Senate, Academic Council, Board of Faculty, Advanced Studies & Research Board, and other affiliated committees to implement HEC/PEC guidelines. The Dean QEC serves on the Plagiarism Standing Committee to ensure fair proceedings. As an active member of PNQAHE (Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education), the Director QEC sits on its Executive Committee.

Standards & Programs

QEC enforces HEC’s minimum requirements for faculty appointments and for admissions into MS, ME, M.Phil., and Ph.D. programs. Having completed Self-Assessment at the undergraduate level, QEC has extended its scope to postgraduate programs, producing numerous Self-Assessment Reports reviewed by program teams.

Extended Scope

Beyond the main campus, QEC monitors educational standards at Constituents and Affiliated Colleges—Engineering College Larkana, GCT Khairpur, Government Habib College of Technology Nawabshah, and GCT Larkana. Regular awareness workshops and seminars for students, faculty, and staff reinforce quality practices across all locations.

Recent Initiatives

In 2020–21, QEC coordinated the HEC review of MS/M.Phil./Ph.D. programs and completed the Self Institutional Performance Evaluation (SIPE) report for HEC ranking purposes.
