Students Accommodation

QUEST, Nawabshah is a prestigious institution that witnesses academic excellence in the vicinity of the city Nawabshah. Students from around the world pursue education in various departments of Engineering, Science, and Technology. Since its inception, our hostel management has provided quality accommodation and outstanding facilities to learners and faculty alike. The university comprises 13 hostels: 10 for boys and 3 for girls. One boys’ hostel is reserved for international students (under construction, opening this academic year), and one girls’ hostel is likewise under construction. A detailed account of hostel facilities follows.

Common Halls

Common Halls keep students abreast of national and international affairs and provide entertainment sections. Each hall is equipped with TV, cable, newspapers, and reading rooms to enhance students’ intellectual, technical, and socio‐political awareness.

Canteen Facility

Every hostel offers dining facilities overseen by the Food Inspection & Regularization Committee (FIRC), comprising wardens and a medical doctor. The FIRC enforces Sindh Food Authority (SFA) guidelines. Non‐compliant canteens face closure. All hostels serve homemade‐style meals at subsidized rates.

Hostel Market Area

To facilitate students, a hostel market offers groceries, snacks, and daily commodities. A 24/7 tea canteen serves quality tea and paratha, saving students trips to the city and keeping them focused on their studies.

Drinking-Water Facility

Water coolers and chillers are installed in every hostel. Filters are replaced per drinking‐water standards, and RO systems mitigate annual water blockages to ensure a continuous supply of pure drinking water.

Security System at Hostels

For student safety, high‐alert security operates 24/7. Entry checkpoints record visitor details, and CCTV is installed in several blocks (with further rollouts planned). Biometric entry systems are also being implemented.

Emergency Services

Each hostel has a dispensary staffed by a senior doctor, dispenser, and dresser, offering free OPD services and basic medicines. A university ambulance is available 24/7, with Edhi Welfare Ambulance Services on standby.

Transport Facility

University transport provides pick‐up and drop‐off between hostels, campus, and the city to ensure student convenience.

Physical Fitness

Separate gymnasia for boys’ and girls’ hostels feature modern exercise equipment. Students and faculty use these facilities daily to stay fit and energetic.

Co-curricular Activities

The Sports Complex offers indoor and outdoor facilities for cricket, football, racket ball, table tennis, volleyball, and more. Regular tournaments and national‐level competitions hone students’ talents and bring acclaim to the university.

QUEST Hostel Management System

The online QUEST HMS provides transparent records of room allotments and payment status. It assists students in viewing their room assignments and liability status, and helps wardens manage accommodations, transfers, and disciplinary actions.

Hostel Discipline

Conduct rules are enforced by wardens, the Hostel Discipline Committee, and the Provost. Misconduct attracts penalties or referral to the University Discipline Committee. Rules are detailed in the Hostel Application Form.

Teachers’ Hostel

A newly constructed teachers’ hostel near the main road provides AC‐equipped rooms, a quality mess, and comfortable accommodation for faculty and officers.

Visiting Faculty Hostel

Visiting scholars, dignitaries, and researchers are accommodated in a dedicated hostel with modern facilities and respectful service.

Eligibility for Hostel Accommodation

A special desk processes hostel allotments during interviews. Students receive application forms upon fee payment. Preference is given to those from distant districts, and allotments follow a first-come, first-served basis under hostel rules and regulations.
