Engr. Jawad ur rehman

Lecturer

Building and Architectural Engineering

Biography

Hafiz Jawad ur Rehman is not just an architect by profession, but someone who believes that architecture has the power to shape lives—especially in places where climate and comfort often stand at odds. Currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Building and Architectural Engineering at QUEST Nawabshah, Jawad brings together his passion for thoughtful design, teaching, and research to create meaningful change in the built environment. His journey into architecture began with a deep curiosity about how people live, adapt, and find comfort in spaces—especially in harsh climates like that of Nawabshah. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from QUEST, he stayed connected to the academic world, eventually becoming a part of the very institution that shaped his early learning. Today, he is also pursuing his PhD, where he is investigating indoor thermal comfort in residential buildings located in hot climatic regions. For him, this research is not just academic—it’s personal. Having lived and worked in these conditions, he understands the real impact poor design can have on people’s daily lives. His work is deeply rooted in human comfort, sustainability, and climate-responsive housing, guided by models such as ASHRAE 55 and adaptive comfort standards. Beyond research, Jawad is a dedicated teacher. He believes in keeping things practical, especially in institutions with limited resources. That’s why he develops hands-on activities using simple, accessible tools like Excel and Climate Consultant, helping students understand complex energy-efficiency concepts without expensive software or labs. To Jawad, architecture isn’t just about buildings. It’s about creating spaces that breathe with the climate, respect the culture, and care for the people inside them. His quiet commitment to education and design is building a legacy—one that is humble, purposeful, and deeply rooted in the needs of his community.
