Dr. Abdul Aleem Jamali is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as the Chairman and Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology (QUEST), Nawabshah, Pakistan. With over 15 years of teaching and research experience, his expertise spans biosensing, computational electromagnetics, plasmonics, photonics, and UWB antennas.
Dr. Jamali earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kassel, Germany, where he conducted pioneering research on optical antennas for biosensing applications. He also holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Communication Engineering from the same university, along with postgraduate and undergraduate degrees in Telecommunication, Control, and Electronics Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Pakistan.
He has been awarded several prestigious honors, including the Young Scientist Award by the International Union of Radio Science (URSI) and multiple research travel grants. A recognized HEC-approved PhD supervisor, Dr. Jamali currently oversees several doctoral projects focused on next-generation biosensor technologies, including plasmonic and metamaterial-based sensors for medical diagnostics and virus detection.
Dr. Jamali has published over 20 journal articles and numerous conference papers, with notable contributions to the fields of surface plasmon resonance biosensors, metamaterial absorbers, and UWB antenna design. He also secured a significant research grant under Pakistan’s NRPU program and is a registered Professional Engineer with the Pakistan Engineering Council.
