Biography

Dr. Mansoor Ahmed Channa is working in the field of English Language and linguistics in Pakistan, presently serving as a Professor at the English Language and Literature Department, Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology, Nawabshah in the province of Sindh. His expertise spans a wide range of areas within linguistics and language pedagogy, making him a valuable asset to the academic community. Besides, his expertise in ESP and EAP is particularly relevant at QUEST, an engineering and technology university, where students need specialized English skills for their respective disciplines. Dr. Channa's academic journey reflects his commitment to the study of language and linguistics. He earned his Ph.D. in Cognitive Science (Cognitive Linguistics) from the University Malaysia Sarawak, demonstrating a deep interest in the mental processes involved in language comprehension and production. Prior to this, he honed his skills in Applied Linguistics (ESP) at Mahidol University, Thailand, earning a Master's degree. His foundational studies include an M.A. in English Literature from SALU Khairpur, Pakistan, providing him with a strong background in the literary and cultural aspects of the English language. Dr. Channa's research contributions are significant. He has authored and co-authored numerous research papers published in reputable national and international journals. Beyond research, Dr. Channa plays an active role in the academic community. He serves as a reviewer for the "English Teaching: Practice and Critique" journal, contributing to the quality control and dissemination of scholarly work in the field. He is likely involved in curriculum development, teaching, and mentoring students, fostering a learning environment that encourages critical thinking and effective communication.
